
Yule Socks | Zoom Workshop
Expand your sock-knitting skills with a toolkit of helpful tips and techniques!
Skill level : Adventurous Beginner, to join this workshop you will need to know how to knit in the round.
The Yule Socks are knitted cuff down, in the round. They can be knitted using your preferred small circumference circular knitting method: magic loop, double pointed needles or 9” circular needles.
Your tutor will be Shara, from Sharamade. She is an experienced sock knitter and will share with you all the tips and tricks for knitting and shaping the Yule Socks.
Materials required for this Workshop (please note these supplies are not included):
- You can use any of the following needle options:
- 2.5mm 80cm (32") circular needle to knit socks using the magic loop technique, or
- a set of 2.5mm double pointed needles, or
- 2.5mm 20cm (9") circular needle
- Approximately 180-220m Main Colour, 120-170m Contrast Colour using sock yarn/4 ply/fingering weight
- 4 stitch markers
- tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends
Workshop Information:
Included: Yule Socks e-pattern, 2 hours of Zoom tuition and a link to the uncut recording of each 1 hour lesson - for you to download and refer to after each lesson.
Technique: Knit cuff down, in the round
Dates: The workshop is held virtually over the following two consecutive Saturdays: 28th May & 4 June, 10 - 11 am (2 x 1 hour virtual lessons)
