When the lovely Lisa Bolton won a beautiful set of Knit Pro knitting needles at our cystic fibrosis fundraiser 'Yarn the Night Away' event in June last year, I remember her laughing at the irony of the prize as she was a die hard crocheter and had never expressed an interest in learning to knit.
Fast forward 12 months and Lisa has not only taught herself to knit, but she has now become a serious knitter and loves it so much she entered a knitted beanie to the Royal Melbourne Show and took home first prize - and here she is with her Blue Ribbon!
She won 1st prize in the Craft Competition/knitting by hand/novice Novice Knitted Accessories category and we couldn't be more proud of her. And the prize is so deserved - look at how gorgeous and complicated the colourwork and pattern is for a novice knitter - she's a total legend.
And we hope she doesn't mind us congratulating her on turning 50 yrs young on Wednesday of this week too!!! Go Lisa. :-)
well done Lisa
